Azure platform and AI agent engineer, working through my limited company, Weldon Web Ltd, from Plymouth, UK. Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, with more than 10 years designing, building and running cloud platforms, integrations and CI/CD for fintech and regulated organisations. The person you scope the work with is the person who builds it.

What I do

Outside-IR35 engagements across three areas: Azure platform engineering (API Management, Functions, AKS, Terraform and DevSecOps pipelines), AI agent development (agents and MCP integrations that reach production), and AI governance and security. Each has fixed-price offers with published starting prices.

I also built and operate Sovara, a family of AI-governance products - which is where much of the hands-on AI and governance experience behind the consulting comes from.

Track record

Director and lead engineer, Weldon Web Ltd

2024 - present

· Azure platform work for fintech and regulated clients: Functions migration to Flex Consumption, private endpoint and DNS architecture, Service Bus messaging, Terraform-managed infrastructure.
· Designed and built AI agents for a finance-sector client, including automated pull-request review.
· Designed, built and shipped four AI-governance products as sole engineer, including an MCP gateway packaged for Azure Marketplace and a browser extension on the Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons.

Azure Integration Architect, RBS

2022 - 2024

· Established the DevSecOps capability, toolchain and production release process for a cloud integration platform of around 20 engineers.
· Automated all infrastructure and deployment pipelines, taking releases from quarterly to weekly.

Azure Integration Architect, PremFina

2022 - 2024

· Designed and delivered 12 integration APIs on Azure for an insurance-premium finance platform, with Durable Functions orchestration and Terraform and Bicep infrastructure as code.

Azure Architect, CoreAzure

2017 - 2019

· Migrated 30 legacy and on-premises applications to Azure Kubernetes Service.

Earlier: Azure technical architect and lead integration engineer at Adaptivity, and Azure engineering roles at Claranet, SR2 and Landmark Information Group.

· Outside IR35 only. Defined deliverables under a statement of work, fixed price or day rate.
· Hands-on. Your scoping call, delivery and support go through the engineer doing the work, with associates available when the scope needs more hands.
· Small commitments first. A scoped first deliverable, prove the value, then scale.
· Honest about fit. If the work needs a team of ten or a different specialism, I will say so.
